Close on the back 9

Tonight we all went to Sugar Camp after work to play some disc golf. When we got there the front 9 was full with hipsters, so we decided to shoot the back 9. Meg got off to a quick start and was ahead for the first few holes, but then started to fade until the final hole when she missed a 7 foot putt to lose by 1 stroke. Wow, we were really close to going to the front 9 for a playoff.

The Crew are in a tight fight with the Braves right now. 0-0 in the 8th. Will Suppan pitch a complete game shutout? Last night's game was really great with Billy Hall stealing 3rd in the 9th and then coming home on a close sac fly. Sweet.

Strong Wind

Today there was a really strong wind - probably the strongest that I've ever tried to play in. There weren't many people on the course, so that was nice. The wind was a huge factor - I was 11 over par! I three putted twice, but I did get my first birdie of the year. I should have had three birdies, but my putting was terrible in the strong wind. Meg and Henry played in the playground while I went solo on the course. We all had a good time, although Meg and Henry were both under the weather.

What the heck is happening to the Brewers? They blew a two run lead in the 9th tonight and then lost it in extra innings to lose by two to the Astros. We're in third place and if we don't turn it around, we might find ourselves too far behind in the race to make a strong run. I don't see the Cubs going on many prolonged losing streaks this year. All the press make it sound like the Cubs are going to break their 100 year WS drought this year - let's hope they don't. Is Braun going to start hitting? With Cameron coming back, I fear that Gwynn isn't going to get much playing time. At least Gabe Gross is gone... Yovani Gallardo has a torn ACL after a really ugly play against the Cubs on a play at first base. Apparently he came back in the game and pitched two more innings after tearing it - pretty amazing, but I guess he is out for the year. That's a real shame as he is one of the up and coming stars. Especially since Parra is not having as good a start as was hoped.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Turnbow. Will the Crew be able to trade him? Will a change of scenery help him out? What are the Brewers going to do late in the game since Gagne is not as reliable as was hoped?
